Founded July 2022, Move Manchester (MM) is an innovative Greater Manchester (GM) Dance Theatre company, led by co-founders Jack Hilton and Ayesha Fazal. In line with our identity as a queer, ethnic majority, non-binary, South-Asian, and neurodivergent led company, we create works that challenge societal norms, promote diversity, and inspire change. We curate shows for varied spaces with belief in taking our art beyond traditional venues and ensuring accessibility for all, challenging the boundaries of contemporary dance and reimagining the relationship between dance and public spaces. We have performed in multiple cities across the UK in diverse spaces such as on open top buses, vacant shops, museums and theatres to name a few!

The Show

Seed to Soil is a captivating 15-20 minute immersive dance theatre experience that focuses on recycling and environmental/agricultural education. Join Sammie and Sahana as they embark on a journey of growth from the earth, showcasing their friendship which is filled with love, creativity, and curiosity, albeit occasionally a bit messy! They delve into the natural development of plants and learn how to care for them, while also growing their own food in their backyard. Their adventure takes them through diverse environments including forests, hills, and gardens. The performance is highly physical, emphasising support, discovery, and excitement, as they continue to learn and share their experiences with children in Key Stages 1 and 2.
